Our Story

the humans behind the Bees...

From our award-winning organic farm nestled on the Lincolnshire/Cambridgeshire border, Bees for Business provides win-win-win solutions with maximum impact for the environment and organisations seeking innovative services for corporate social responsibility.

Jez and Caroline launched Bees for Business in 2017 to help raise awareness of the plight of the honeybee in Britain, whilst simultaneously offering a solution. Growing rapidly from just 1 beehive to over 50, we now harvest and prepare some of the finest 100% British, raw honey products, including jarred honey and honeycomb, for recognisable and iconic brands and celebrities across the UK under our exclusive award-winning honey brand, 'Bees & Co.'.

Caroline and Jez
In 1900 it is estimated there were 1 million beehives across the United Kingdom by 2015 there were just 270,000

The relationship between humans and the honeybee is more important today than it has ever been and with a wider public appreciation of the critical environmental importance of bees, our clients enjoy all the benefits of keeping bees but without any of the hard work, whilst actively helping to reverse the decline of the honeybee in Britain.

It has been widely reported that the honeybee population is increasingly under threat by disease, diminishing pollen sources and pollution, however, a further threat is the lack of social awareness of the importance of honeybees: one third of the food we eat relies on their pollination.

In a bid to help reverse their decline, we launched ‘Project 250’: committing to install 250 new beehives over the next 5 years and partnering with land owners to sow 250 acres of organic, bee-friendly flower seeds on unused land, enhancing the environment visually whilst improving biodiversity and providing vital food sources for pollinators.

Our partnerships extend to stroke and mental health rehabilitation teams, special educational needs organisations and charities to provide paid, volunteer and work experience opportunities within nature with our bees and in our pollinator friendly gardens on the farm.

Environmental Impact - positive differences

For us, caring for the environment is central to everything we do.

From planting organic bee-friendly flowers, to using recycled packaging and rewarding delegates who car share, cycle or commute with discounts - we recognise just how important the planet is and the positive impact we can all make with a tiny bit more consideration.

Modern Technology - a world first for honey

Our apiaries are covered by CCTV and some of our beehives feature state of the art monitoring technology, which allows us to review the weight, internal temperature, humidity, apiary weather conditions and bee count.

Not only does this provide us with critical information about the hives, home to our beloved bees, but offers our customers ultimate product traceability: a world first for honey.

Charity

We believe that we have a stake in one another and that what binds us to the planet we all share, is nature.

We make donations from each jar of honey sold and from each beehive adoption plan to The Just 1 Project; raising £500,000 for five remarkable charities (Brain Tumour Research; Youth Sport Trust; Contented Dementia Trust; BASICS Emergency Volunteer Doctors Hertfordshire; Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity).
